Although OU losing to unranked Colorado is worse than LSU losing to a tough UK team, Bob Stoops is well known for running up the score...um, I mean, racking up "style points" (according to our ESPN friends). Will we also have to worry about margin of victory to keep OU from edging LSU? (assuming no more losses by either team)
My take on the human polls is this: The coaches/writers had to drop LSU down to as far as five...after a quality win against Auburn....some might raise us above Boomer Sooner....Hell, many writers around the country are STILL calling LSU the best team in college football.
i think if we beat auburn pretty good, we jump to at least too. remember that the computers have us a 2 already. we might need style points to sway some human voters
The computers don't, but Harris poll voters do, and the humans still account for 2/3 of the BCS score. I also doubt it would happen, but if history has shown anything (UF jumping Michigan in the final week last year), it's that voters are capable of anything.
Yep. Just to echo the sentiment of everyone else (and a cheap way to increase my posts#), as long as we take care of business, there is no worry of OU leaping us in the BCS. The Big 12 is as weak as its been in quite a while.
Exactly, with a win against Auburn we're almost guarenteed to be #1 in the computer polls. I'm predicting we'll only jump up to #4 in the human polls (barring a OSU, OU loss/losses) but we will gain some ground on OU.
Win vs Top 10 VT. Win vs Top 15 USC Win vs Top 10 UF Loss to Top 20 UK And this weekend, hopefully a Win vs Top 20 AU. Plus the SECCG, vs a probable top 10 team. If we win out, we will go to the NC game.
We have a HUGE advantage with the SEC Championship game, especially if it is against a good "TV" team in Florida. We win...the polls will easily correct themselves. It almost helps Oklahoma will play ____ in the Big 12 title game.
