you've got a point. under saban, we only won back-to-back games against great teams 2 out of 5 times. those two were at the end of the season too. dont forget that one or two losses will probably win the west
What's going to be so tough about playing the #3 in the East and #3 West on successive weekends? Auburn has to face Arkansas the week BEFORE LSU. That will be a much tougher hill to climb than the "Urban blight". Man, re-entry is gonna toast some Auburn Yardbirds to a crisp.
I totally agree. The 2003 Georgia team that LSU beat 17-10 in Baton Rouge was not even close to being at the same strength in the Georgia Dome because of all of the injuries. Right now, Tennessee is dealing with injuries to several players who might not be available until late October at the earliest. Looking at their schedule, all of their real important division/conference match-ups are over by October 8th. I still expect to see LSU and Georgia square off in the Georgia Dome again and I'll make my predicitons based on who is actually available to play at that juncture.
I'd say that a fair amount of publications will have Auburn finishing 3rd in the west, 2nd at best. I'd have them 3rd behind LSU and Bama.
I'm sure they do. And it's not unreasonable to think that. It's not unreasonable to believe Auburn, LSU, or Alabama have a shot at the West title because the SEC champion is rarely who people think it will be at the beginning of the year. We play in a league where you can't take a win for granted against anybody really. The part of the post that caught my eye, was when he said 'would be an accomplishment'. It's reasonable to put us anywhere from 1st to 3rd. But I think 3rd would be more on the disapointing side of things, whereas 1st would be an accomplishment. MarineTiger, do you really think us beating Miss. St. and Ole Miss next year would be an 'accomplishment'?
You're letting him get your goat are you? :hihi: You know he loves that. Auburn should be a better football team IMO than Bama, especially where depth is concerned.
