Yeah, just think! You might only be down by 17 after the first 12 minutes time! You clowns are not going to be on our level this go 'round.
Ok, now that I've read this thread. The questions I have are about just how good a QB Auburn will have next year. A QB that has none, or maybe very little SEC experience. This will tell all. I'm not saying that AU won't be good next year but we saw just how good our LSU QB's were last year. It is the one position that can really keep you down no matter how good your team is. I see that Bama has some serious depth issues, well they may not be able to keep up with the rest of the pack, if they can somehow fix their O-line lookout with a QB returning and a pretty good defense. When I look at the west AU could still make it to second, it may or may not be a long year for them depending on how consistant their QB is.
A very reasonable question that most Auburn fans are waiting to find out also, since Cox is still an unknown quantity. He's definitely "highly touted" but it remains to be seen if he can get the offense into the right playcall following the pre-snap read. But there's a big difference between Auburn's situation and that of Alabama. Auburn has one of it's best O-lines in a decade, assuming they remain healthy. Auburn's schedule sets up well to allow Cox to fully-bake before the big test in game 6. Bama has no such luxury - seriously, they're hurtin' for talent in the trenches. Bama fans are going to learn what Auburn fans experienced in '03. You can have a great defense, but if they're on the field the whole game (thanks to an anemic offense) they are not going to be able to hang with the top teams on their schedule. Bama will put up a fierce fight for 2-3 quarters, and then they'll get toasted.
I agree. Bama has some stud athletes, but they still lack the depth needed for a championship run in the SEC. They are a couple of top-10 recruiting classes away yet. A couple of key injuries and Bama is out of the race early in 2005.
Not only that but Alabama has a coach that, imo, has not shown to put a solid offensive game plan together. OL is much weaker this year.
Actually, I do. Are Ole Miss and Fresno State considered two decent opponents? Most would agree they are "decent," yet they were both roasted by Wyoming and La Tech last season. Maybe the word "respectable" works better for you for OOC opponents .... take your pick. Regardless, my point was less that UF would be playing them, my point was more that they would already have completed two games in which Meyer can work out the kinks in implementing his system. UT, on the other hand, will face the Gators, on the road, in only their second game of the season. Yes, the Gators may be overhyped, but they are still going to make you earn a victory, no matter how good you may be.
La Tech is a joke. Please. Yes, they beat Alabama awhile ago. Big deal. Alabama isn't a decent opponent anymore.
