Just wondering what the members are thinking. I say no. After Lily I had no power for 5 days and I was so hot and aggravated that I couldn't even get excited about a football game. It took 3 or 4 days just to get all the of the roads cleared. 2 days after a major hurricane ain't enough time to have everything in order sufficient to put on a Div I college football game. They have to get all of the concessions, ice, etc in the stadium. Remeber how hard it was to get a bag of ice 3 days after Lily? Ticket takers are still trying to find their couch that flew out after the trailer rolled. The boy scout ushers are still in Memphis with their evacuated families. The chain gang will be working overtime at their real jobs picking up debris. CBS usually takes a week to set up. Are they even there yet? Sorry dudes. Ain't gonna happen.
I think the way Auburn is thinking they will decide to play, I don't believe they are looking out for anybody but their football team and coach's best interest.
they are hellbent playing it and the tubby faithful have bought his line of BS....they've spewed it all week. He fed it, they ate it. "We will not make a decision until we have gathered all the necessary information". The only information I would have needed if I was part of the administration would have been many people would still be trying to get back to their homes and families this weekend while getting their real lives back in order which emotionally and monetarily will take lots of time for some. Forget any of the logistics....as long as bodies can get to the field and the refs can find a whistle....game on. Fine by me personally since i hate waiting though I think it reeks of bad taste in every aspect.
I voted that the game will be played, I believe AU is going to have us play this game no matter how good or bad things are in Alabama.
I agree with Tirk. The Auburn folks don't want to analyze the situation. They don't mind playing the game with less people in the stands. If the players can get there, this game is on. Was reported somewhere else that Tubby and Saban told the players today that the game is on. Don't know if true or not.
I voted no but I still haven't seen anything about how much damage Ivan did in the Auburn area. I don't believe that it is completely up to Auburn whether its played or not. LSU and the SEC would have to have some say about it.
Well if you go to the Auburn sites they say there was very minimal damage. Their "inside people" also say the game is on.
