Mental mistakes cost us this game.
A FG would've been just perfect at the end of the half, hike the ball and throw it
    away with no timeouts.

Our offense was as bad as our defense was in the ASU game.
Our defense seemed to play better but some of that was due to Tenn players dropping
    the ball.
They dropped around 3 passes where they might have went the distance and many
    more for 1st downs.

I was actually thinking along those lines as he backpadeled several times..

I don't think u can compare Jamarcus to Brooks yet, he was handcuffed by conservative playcalling, a QB is as only as good as the offensive direction he receives. He handed off most of the time and then was put in the postion to pass in obvious sitiuations.

he is terrible at check offs... thats why he gets caught by the blitz..

yeah that too. It was just something to think about, he hasn't played enough yet to know for sure.
I know this though, when he hands the ball off he telegraphs it, the world can see it. He also can't wait to get away from center, even without the ball if neccessary.. :dis:

not blaming this on JR. He''s just one aspect of the game.

here's something to think about, WHAT if Jamarcus was as good at QB as Addai or Green are at their positions?

We'd have won by 30 even with sorry play calling!

some of the fist half play calling wasnt bad. Also it's not wrong to get conservative with a 21 point lead but it is WRONG to let your offense get COMPLACENT! :dis:

JR's style of play matches what he did in high school.. its just that he isnt playing HS defenses anymore.. if he doesnt adapt soon, I say the two quarterback system worked just fine for UT..

He's young and inexperience - hopefully he matures and if not then we move down the list.

He does have one hell of a canon though - shame it was an interception.

How about using the depth and speed at wide receiver where vertical stretch of the defense would allow us to throw underneath at will for first downs; that would help a young QB, keep the crowd motivated and rest your defense. We have no continuity on offense, poor substitution of depth where they do not appear to be in sych. or comfortable with the system. Example, the deep pass to Davis; why were we not throwing the ball downfield; where was X. Carter? TE? Flat passes to RB's etc.

Jimbo left his playbook in the bathroom at half time and just winged it the rest of the game.
