Will this team rally around AB, dedicate season to him?

With nearly every championship run, you hear stories of how a team came together over an injury, death, , inspirational player or some other emotional event within the team. Do you think AB's injury will help this team emotionally? Already, JV was quoted as saying "I'm going to dedicate the season to him. He would definitely do the same for me."

Others have talked about how important he was for team morale, so he is obviously well liked. There were rumblings that the team already called a meeting a re-dedicated themselves to work harder and take every practice more serious. In the long run, AB will be back and running opponents into the ground...but in the mean time, will the team win one for the Bruiser?

I think JV will definitely feel the responsibility of stepping up this year with AB out.

While it sucks that Alley was hurt I think our existing backs will be even more awesome this year.

Bottom line is how our qb's perform. We excel in every other area. We are as good if not better than any other team in the nation talent wise.

Just wanted to drop in and say I truly hated to hear about Broussard. He is one tough honcho for sure. I know ya'll are still in good shape at the RB position, but he was clearly one of the top backs in the nation . Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Man, I hope other teams are prepared.

This LSU team might be more focused than EVER.

Win It all for the Bruiser.

Honestly, this injury is a bomb on the national scene. Is the depth the good guys have at running back lost on the national writers?

The team is rallying around the senior leadership and has been since Spring football. If LSU makes the national championship run, it will be because of character to remain focused on each game individually, blocking out the bs that surrounds any successful LSU team, and the incredible amount of talent that is on the War Skule campus.

This mantra has been played repeatedly by many, LSU will be extremely good this season regardless of the backfield rotation.

I think LSU is still in good shape in RB's but even if we start rolling on offense and start racking up the W's Alley Broussard will still be missed.

I think the players understand that injuries are a part of the game. It's not going to a "win one for the bruiser" type years. It's not like he's dying. It's sad that he got hurt b/c he's been a hard worker, but that is the risks you take when playing a contact sport. I think you dedicate seasons to people in really bad shape. Alley will be back.:geauxtige

Probly right, I'm just looking for some type of reason to motivate them all season long. Hopefully the sheer will of the seniors who've won it all before will be enough.

    This will create a chain:

A.) LSU will get less respect in the polls...
B.) LSU will not be talked about as much...
C.) Players will see this... become angered, offended...
D.) Players will try to shine and create a name for THEMSELVES
E.) Players will play with a chip on their shoulders, trying to TAKE "respect"
F.) Things get dirty and rough in the 4th quarter, and they want to quit... they will look to Alley in the jeans and uni, and think about how he is dying to be on the field... This will cause them to dig for that little bit of extra in the tank

A player getting hurt is never "good"

but it can do crazy things for a football team...
