I'm not trying to start a bad rumor but asking a serious question. An Auburn friend of mine has a buddy (LSU grad) who works for the architectural firm overseeing the new work on Tiger Stadium. He says due to construction problems and weather that things are way behind schedule and there is no way it will be ready for the Auburn game Oct. 22. He says there is already talk of moving the game to Tulane stadium or the Superdome. Is there any truth to this or it just a bunch of baloney?
Load o' crap. LSU says the stadium will be ready for September 3's opener, lacking only carpet and paint in certain area. There is no Tulane Stadium and Tiger Stadium, even without the new deck would seat about 10,000 more than the Superdome.
Per Proud Tiger: "I can't imagine why anyone would start a rumor like this." Because it's the summer time & some people just aren't happy if life unless they have something to bitch about. General Richard(TAF CEO) has stated that there may be a few WU ticket holders who will be dispersed somewhere else in the stadium(most likely the visitor section for the 1st game, since UNT probably won't use all of their allotted tickets). For the few people that are inconvenienced for a couple of games.....get over it & look at the big picture of what LSU has tried to accomplish with this renovation. Would they rather LSU close TS for an entire season or try something that has never been done before? This thing will progress quickly over the next month & we will play UNT in TS on Sept. 3rd.....end of story.
I'm glad someone else realizes the BIG picture. LSU has tried to do something in a matter of months that other places wouldn't even have considered trying. Not only is LSU undergoing a major building project but it also had to undergo a major demolition/dismantling project. Gen. Richard said by the Tennessee game things will look great. To me that's incredible, look at other schools who are just adding seats to their stadiums and look at the time frames. Once completed, Tiger Stadium will only have improved its image as one of college football's premier venues!
It's true, Proud. Let every Auburn fan going to the LSU game know that the game is in fact in New Orleans
Nah... better yet... Tell them that they can have it as a home game! Gas sure is expensive these days, so you guys just stay home! lol
