Bogle - Phantom $17 a bottle, red wine, California, mix of grapes, very good at its price point. I got it at Specs in Houston, Westheimer near Kirkwood. Specs near my house does not have it, needs to be a BIG Specs. Great with steak.

The Dude should be a contributor here!

My favorite wine that I've ever tried is the Chateau St. Michelle Riesling. Runs between $9-$12 a bottle depending on where you buy it. I've tried more expensive brands, up to around $35 per, but I just haven't found one I really like.

For Riesling: Columbia Winery Cellermaster's beats all the others hands down.

I really can't drink wine, it gives me headaches. I can drink beer or whiskey to the point of unconsciousness, but two glasses of wine and I'm ill. So I have no idea based on taste. I keep a few bottles for visitors--a couple of German white wines, Riesling or Liebfraumlich; a couple of red wines, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon; and a rose like White Zinfandel. Wino's can usually find one they like.

I just ask the wine clerk what he buys. It usually leads me to one that is a "good" wine for the price.

Two of my "go to" drinks during the week are Smoking Loon and Rex Goliath, both cabs. Never disappoints.
