1. I was just wondering. I don't want to turn this into a Miles bashing thread, I like the guy. But lets say Bertman was considering Spurrier. Would you have preferred him? Can you imagine what he'd look like with an LSU visor on? I just dunno. I'm not sure I'd want to be THAT team. He brings a certain stigma down upon his teams.
  2. No, IMO.

No need to speculate on this now...Les has one successful year under his belt, with the 40-3 thrashing of UM as an exclamation point!

    :geauxtige
  3. At this point, I think I prefer Miles. Spurrier is on the short track to retirement, whereas Miles has said he wants to stay @ LSU to make a career. I'd like that kind of stability in our program. It's what we hoped for with Saban, but didn't get to enjoy.
  4. Very good point.
  5. At the time, I would have wanted Spurrier, but that is just because of willful ignorance towards Miles on my part

Now that I know what he is about, I don't mind having him here at all
  6. I would have considered Spurrier a strong contender simply because I had seen his play in the SEC for years. While we loved to hate him, he had a track record of collegiate success which is paramount, especially for tiger fans. My take on Miles at the time was we were having to replace our gold medal winner with a bronze medal winner with great potential. I hadn't seen any OSU games because they weren't heavily televised in this area. I am glad I was wrong!
  7. we should have taken spurrior over dinardo
  8. Acually Spurrier was in the mix when Archer was hired and he wanted the job. He held it against LSU that we didn't hire him. Spurrier was already @ Florida when D-Nardo was hired.
  9. very true...

hence some of the 100-0 blowouts he used to put on us with UF :angryfire
  10. hell yea i would want SOS over Miles. SOS is a top 5 coach of all time and has proven to be a winner over and over again. If he was coach I think we would have won it all last year.
