Dandy D is reporting that state troopers will try to get a jump on their quotas this month by viciously upholding the law on I-49 this weekend. Also, a personal friend tells me St martin parish will be doing the same on that 3 mile stretch of the basin bridge that is in their parish. Keep an eye on your speed, buckles, and open containers.
Any kind of head's up like this is always appreciate. Can you try to get me some 411 on speed traps for MS Gulf Coast?
Or you could just obey the speed limit, buckle up, and save the beer for when you arrive. Just a thought.
I drive the Atchafalaya I 10 bridge often. I set my cruise at 64 and have gone right by a radar gun with no problem. The truckers, for the most part, obey the posted 55 MPH (for trucks), but those GD Texans act like the law doesn't apply to them. If you go 80 in a 60 and get busted, don't whine to me. And don't speed up when you get to the westbound end of the bridge. The Town of Henderson incorporated this section and they are racking up money for the Police Budget. Over $36,000 into the Town's coffers last year and they didn't start up until June or so.
Tell me about it! Seriously, every time I look at that avatar, I get flashbacks to waiting tables in college when Carrot Top headlined. The only funny thing during his show was the stunned looks on the faces in the audience after his first five minutes on stage. :nope:
Most state troopers here are Ms. State fans. So they are not in a good mood. Gulfport has a full time K-9 officer in a Charger running radar a lot. So does Harrison Co. The speed limit is 70, 78 is pretty safe.
