your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola long overdue. thru 40 games LSU has not had one 6-4-3 DP (all year) which is unbelievable really. and this dude can really pick it. only knock is he is a catholic high alum. mahtook to center. jarrett mitchell to right. ryan schimpf to left. dj to 2b. chad jones out of the loop.
Re: your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola I think the Catholic High thing is great! As a SJA girl, it makes it that much better!!!
Re: your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola man, i've been rooting for DJ all season, but i think this is a good move. maybe nola could be more athletic. DJ let a lot of balls bounce over his head this season that could have been a DP, but definitely would have at least been one out. off the top of my head, i can think of at least ten times where that holds true, and that's not really thinking more than a month back. a lot of times it was just how the ball was hit, but DJ is a natural 3B anyhow, would work better at 2b. tyler is beast at third...
Re: your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola Someone told me Tyler would be moved to second base next season. Moving DJ there now would seam contrary to what I was told. Anyone know something about that? What about Leon Landry, is he out of the starting lineup now? I've always told my son that as long as you can hit the ball, a coach will find you a place to play even if its to lay down behind the pitcher and keep perfectly still.
Re: your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola It's Landry's defense keeping him in the lineup. He's been stone cold at the plate since that early home run burst. M read on Jones is that once he gets his baseball legs back, he's gonna be in there.
Re: your* new starting shortstop, Austin Nola i havent seen many games (only the ones here in athens). how much of this amazing stat is because of the ss and how much because of the 2b. generally, i think 2b has the harder role in turning two.
you were told wrong is all. seriously though, maybe he makes the move next year but would be odd with tyler so good at the hot corner already. sf is right. defense is keeping landry around. he is streaky and cpm picks his spots with him for now. i dont think it really matters who its more difficult for, just the fact one hasnt been turned yet. didnt think it was possible 40 games in. depends on the play on how difficult it is for whom but its usually tougher on the 2b making the turn. this speaks more of dj's range or lack of I assume. hence, the move. we could put you at ss and you'd never make an error because you'd never get to a ball but that wouldnt mean you were any good. though the stats may lead you to believe that. thats a hypothetical of course.
He may have. He wants to keep DJ in there and he probably feels DJ is better suited for 2b than 3b. So just leave Hannover there for now since he is doing a fine job. This is about this years team, not how we will set up next year.
