  1. Special Teams used to be a strength for us, a source of pride, and a well oiled machine. Presently, not so much. This needs to be improved. CLM needs to get control of it and demand better play.
  2. Les gets control of it by hiring a new ST coach. But I would bet more than a dollar that he won't terminate Peveto until the end of the season.

  4. Of course not. We can't replace him with a top coach this time of year, for one thing. And he will get a chance to fix this, because he has put up some very good special teams before. I think we will see more offensive and defensive starters on special teams. We need to get young players used to playing, but not if they can't follow their instructions. We know good and well that the coaches are teaching them to stay in their lanes, but the players are failing to do that. Make some personnel changes coach. And find a kicking guru and let him work with the kickers until we can find someone who can kick it into the end zone consistently.

  5. Dewayne Thomas should be playing special teams, so should the younger receivers, as well as Brossette. Let that man redeem himself for the fumble he took hard on special teams. You wanna look at some guys, Danny McCray sucked on D but was a monster on special teams, Jarvis Landry covered kicks well, James Wright, Russell Shepard, Ryan Baker, Jalen Collins, Ron Brooks. We see what happens when the opposing offense gets a short field. It's imperative this gets fixed immediately.

  6. Zackly. Hester played ST and was almost always the first cat on the ball In coverage. Time to let some men show the boys how to play.
  7. In Les' post game comments, he mentioned the USCe special teams and their coach Joe Robinson.
    Someone will have to interpret for BDP, but I read Les' comments as a sign to BDP to get his shit together or update his resume.
    If I'm not mistaken, and if I am, Red will correct me, but I think Robinson coached special teams at LSU previously.

  9. Les also said it was his idea to pooch kick. I can't really say I blame him, but it's a sad state of affairs when that happens.
  10. Indeed. But it was probably practical to eliminate the chance for another big return during the game and fix the problem later when they have the time.
