I was just reading in the Atlanta Journal that the UGA ticket office has estimated that people will have to donate approx. 1500.00 per ticket to receive tickets to UGA home games. This is the end zone seats. Heaven only knows what it takes to get good seats. The ticket office said that this is double what it took last year to get tickets.

I think LSU is not far behind. A couple more championship seasons and look out.

1500 a donation. That is ludicrous.

That is nothing compared to tennessee. I have a friend that is a Tennessee fan and he donates 2500 a seat in upper deck. Now that I think is ridiculous. He said endzone upperdeck seating is about 1500 and lower level between the yardlines are 5000.

Making you donate 5,000 bucks just to be able to buy a seat, no wonder tennessee pay their players. I'd pay them too if I was making that much cash of of these kids.

    Try Clemson....

    http://clemsontigers.collegesports.com/iptay/clem-pointsystem.html

They started IPTAY (I pay ten a year) years ago... then it went to a hundred, a thousand and now $10,000 each year for the "right" to buy 14 tickets... just gets you in line.
Now those clever little rascals (check the link) have an "awards point program" based on the amount of money you've spent thru the years. The more points the better the seats and parking.

    ... you'd think they'd be better.

It's just as bad at florida. While I attended grad school at UF the avg. donation per seat was $1300 and that was back in 2000. No telling what it is now. The only way that joe fan can afford to go the games is through ebay or buying them off the streets. It will be a matter of time before TAF will up the donation per seat. Heck the demand is there.

It is truly beautiful to see capitalism at work. And with these kinds of prices, I imagine you'll see more of that capitalism at the local Best Buy or sports watering hole, like OkieTIger mentioned.

I imagine RV's with big screens will be the place to be pretty soon!!

I'm not going to complain about the prices if people are willing to pay them, but WOW. It blows me away, tax breaks or not!

That is crazy. The fans are already paying a lot to get the seats. Paying over a thousand just for a donation is ludacris.
