Rivals has LSU ranked as 21, but that has to do with only having 10 or so commits as much as anything. We all knew that LSU would have a small class this year, but the upside is that LSU's "average stars" is higher than any other school in the top 25.

wow. is powe really 350? that's huge for a college DL, especially if he's 6'3''

Why are commitments taking other visits?

How solid is Korte's commitment, since he is visiting Old Mrs.?:eek:lefire: How solid is Myers' commitment since he is going to visit Nebraska? These are nervous times for Tiger fans -- we still don't have a defensive coordinator, it appears Miles is scrambling for a good candidate, we may have to settle for Clay or some NFL position coach not ready to be a coordinator. Recruiting seems to be hanging by a thread -- we can't afford to lose Korte and Myers. Powe was a pleasant surprise but will his commitment stick, and if it does, will he be eligible? I will keep the faith and give Miles a chance, but .... nervous times.

dude you need to calm down. How is it nervous times? most of the good ones don't commit until the last week. And just so you know their commit's are solid. They both said they just wanted to go on the trips but they were solid. As far as the DC goes, Miles is waiting to make sure he gets the right one. Trust me we will survive with one down recruiting year and this year isn't really a down year just low on schollies.

A little over a week ago we were in the 30's we've moved up at least 10 spots. Coach Miles and staff are working hard. If we keep up this pace we could easily end up in top ten again.

Someone said awhile back that they would be happy just to get on the first page. Well we're there.

Everybody calm down, nobody will know for sure what the recruiting class is like for another 2 possibly 3 years.

The reason people have these sites and rankings are mostly to get people stirred up and join their site for 19.95 per month. who knows which players will flake out as opposed to that small town kid who explodes onto the scene and becomes an all-american.

You have to trust in the coaches that they will fill the needs of the team based on the losses from the year before and try like hell to get the best player to fill that spot. I trust that the coaches know more about what they want than a recruiting service does.

And yes we cannot sign a ton of guys this year because we don't have the schollys to give them. We are by no means in a panic mode yet or close to one. This will be a good class.

I don't know, al of these recruiting sites have been fairly accurate in rating our last 4 classes I think. Threy may miss on a player or 3 but overall they are right on the money with LSU recently.

WE are not going to have a top 5 year with only 16-18 schollys to give when just about everyone else has 22-24 going out. Like I said you don't just recruit a player because he is good, you recruit him because you need him on the team. Yes it is good to be 2-3 deep at every position, but if you lose 3 defensive linemen, you recruit DL.

This will be a good recruiting class for the tigers anyways, if RP commits, then most likely Fred Rouse will too and that right there will push the Tigers to a top 10 year for those of you who like numbers.

BTW rivals had Jacob Hester as a 3 star recruit last year and look how that turned out. A true freahman starting for the Tigers. I know they don't all end up like this, but for the most part the smart coaches with winning records go out and recruit players that have the personality of the coach and that will gel as a team.

LSU will finish top 5 (right at about 5) if we get Granger AND Perrilloux. We need those 2 five star players to be able to get into the top 5 nationally. A total of about 18 players with the rest of the ones we pick up being 4 stars except for maybe a one or two 3 star players. Then we're talking top 5, which would be phenomenal.

Rivals actually had Hester as a 2-star, but it didn't make sense. Usually 2-stars are only getting offers from La.-Monroe, La. Lafayette, maybe Southern Miss or Memphis if they're lucky. Hester had offers from Miami, OU, LSU, TX , & TX TECH. There must be some type of error.
