If Brady keeps insulting callers on the call in show I might just say screw him. A gentleman called in from Iowa and was asking about the bench players. He asked a simple and very innocent question it went something like this " could you tell us how much the bench player mean to the team ". The bench players meaning the guys that do not ever get to play.

Bradys answer was " I dont have to justify to you what I say to those players they know what i say to them in practice.

I have heard others on this site trash Brady for things he said on the radio show but until you hear him you cant believe that he would say something like that to a fan that is not being critical of him.

Somebody posted problems with his show last week.
I have seen some of his interviews, and he does not come across as very likable. I support him as well, but he will not last long if he pisses off his fans (or at least his non-enemies)

It's always amazing what "huge fans" remember from an hour radio show.
What else did he say. Was his meeting with Collis and the rest of the seniors of importance? I think he indicated that the outcome of that meeting may have spurred the recent success that the team is having.
What about the conversation with the Mom of walk on, Greene. The information that Greene is a senior and is going into medical school shortly. Was that noteworthy?
We are on the brink of making the NCAA tournament. We have the best recruiting class in the country, and four seniors are getting ready to play their last game for LSU, and we are still in the negative mode. You guys post like you want fans to stay at home when the seniors play their last game vs Alabama.

He may not be very likable to some, but the players and the players parents seem to like him a great deal. I have heard Brian Beshera's parents call the show severl times and give Brady credit for the support he gave Brian. As I mentioned Greene's Mom was at the restaurant tonight and was very happy her son was being coached by Brady.
Did I mention that all four of the Seniors either have their degrees are on schedule to graduate next semester?

It is amazing what Collis Temple III has been able to do in 5 years. A lot of kids do good to graduate undergrad in 5 years much less finish undergrad AND a masters. That by itself would be really tough and add on the amount of time and effort it takes to be an athelete and one of the team leaders. It's weird for me to think of a fellow student who is only a couple years older than me as a role model, but Temple is deffinatly the kind of guy kids should look up too.

I like Brady, and no one said that anybody should stay home. But obviously LSU basketball is not bringing in the fans that it used too, and Brady having a Snafu with a fan every week is not helping him with selling the program. He is very defensive.
Do you really think that posting this here is going to stop someone from going to the Alabama game?
Although I have not had many lately on this subject, I would say most if not all of my posts have been in support of Brady. That does not mean someone cannot point out a fault here and there.

DT you are correct in the point of posting. I just thought it was interesting that a person whose topic was "huge Brady fan" and the entire topic was negative.
I listened to the show also. To be honest, I was a little surprised at Brady's response to the above mentioned caller. However, all are not gifted in PC. John Brady is too abrupt for his own good sometimes, IMO. You are correct. He is too defensive. I wish he would relax and enjoy the journey. Life is too short to be so uptight all the time.

In general though, I thought he seemed relaxed and at ease with the callers and the fans in attendance. He cracked jokes with the audience and gave some inciteful opinions as to how the season has developed.

It all boils down to the fact that attendance at the games has sucked this year. Outside of the AZ and Miss St games the PMAC has been a ghost town. I don't miss a home game and am shocked at the small turn out. With basketball not being the "top sport" at LSU this is something Brady will have to deal with year in and year out. If the team wins people will come if they don't win people won't come except for the few who are true basketball and/or tiger fans. Add to that the women's team drew +14,000 for a game and he hasn't come close to that it has to get further under his skin.

There isn't a coach in the country who wouldn't get pissed at dismal turn out at their games. Brady just happens to wear his emotions on his sleeves. He is very outspoken and I think that can be detrimental to his perception to the fans.

He has made many boastful comments that have come back to haunt him. for instance, and most recently, touting Bright as the best PG in the conference due to his performance up until the GA game. You know how Bright performed after that for a stretch. Sometimes Brady needs to just keep his thoughts to himself. Another that comes to mind is his recent comments about comparing Kentucky to AZ...Olsen obviously didin't like it based on his comments..although this hasn't hautnted him yet.

This outspokenness (is that a word?) has trickled down to the team as well. Some of the players comments after the Tenn game were not "flaming" but definitely bulletin board material. "Tenn was not ready for us" and "How did they not guard against the 3, didn't they see the last game?". IMO that stuff is uncalled for. In indicates you don't think the other team prepared which is nothing for an opposing team to comment on.

I guess though with the lack of success they have had this year and it most years past when you are finally doing well you want to be recognized. And what better way than to boast yourself. I just wish at times they would keep the thoughts to themselves and let their play on the court speak for them.

Guaranty if the Tigers beat Ole Miss tomorrow night, the PMAC will be nearly packed and rocking for Bama.:D :D

    Roy theory is

That you are a good Coach you can shit on the world if it does not benefit you personally. So LSU fans should just like Brady because he wins. Who cares if he Craps all over the Fans on his way to the top.

Yes Roy I am a Huge Brady fan as a Coach but this was the first time I listend to the Radio show and I dont care who you are you don't tell an LSU fan (who called a show to be positive) That he does not matter screw you basically is what Brady said.

No matter who coachs at LSU there will always be negative remarks about them or their ability, I hope Brady takes this team to the final four and relize that he doesn't have to justify his coaching to ALL the fans. Sure he hollers, so does Sabin. They are both passionat coachs who want to WIN! Why does Sabin draw less ire than Brady?

I just hope we can win at least three more games, get to the NCAA, and with the recruits we have I think Brady and LSU will be just fine.
