Just like one of our kickers the recruiting experts have seen fit to move Byrd up from 3 stars to 4 stars. The JC list is being updated and I assume Byrd will move up the chart to a higher ranking. Isn't it nice to get more stars without having to go out and recruit more people?
One thing I love about Miles' recruiting is that, for the most part, our recruits move up as updating rankings continue to come out. This is because of superior talent evaluation by the staff. I also notice that we never offered some high quality recruits - players like Ahmad Paige that started off as a 5 star & people wondered what were our coaches thinking, well those players have all been falling in the rankings.
LSU-bound receiver Demetrius Byrd of Poplarville (Miss.) Pearl River C.C. also moved up the rankings to the No. 25 spot, also earning a fourth star. He had a very successful sophomore season, backing up a freshman year that saw him rack up 42 receptions for 703 yards and seven scores. Byrd moved up to #25 overall in the Juco Rankings and the #5 WR. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=635746
Is that his birth name? Does he have an identical twin named Eric and his parents were too dumb to come up with a better name?
Reliable meaning all of their 5 star recruits go on to win championships? How would one compare two different recruiting services ranking systems?
That's what I feel....it's exciting to see how well our coaches are able to recognize talent and says a lot in those regards. :thumb:
