I know we as "Tiger Nation" are a bit giddy over Vandy handing them their ass today. I figured it would be good natured fun to give ol @TerryP a jab in the ribs about it but I quickly regretted it. See i forgot that while he is a gump he does live on the east coast and his mom is missing. Friends and, even if they root for the wrong team, people will always take priority! If you believe in a higher power i ask that you pray for our resident gump fan. I couldn't imagine what it must feel like for him right now.
Damn. Thanks, Shane. Your text wasn't something you should regret: just bad timing. I stopped by this morning to look for basketball updates ... was thinking about the big guy UF has on their roster and whether he could run the court. It led me to thinking about the 7 footer you guys have on the roster... On the note of my mom. Thanks, again. And, thank God for Ring doorbell and video cameras. And, I live in a cul-de-sac. While it took a minute ... at least I knew what direction.
This is a "sort of." I have three exterior doors; one on the east to the deck, one on the west to the patio, and the front door. I have electronic locks on the front to keep her inside...but she has easy access to the back. I was cleaning up damage from the storm and left the front door open. She went outside to look around...and a few minutes later I realized, "oh shit." It was my fault. I turned my back for a minute and wasn't thinking. It sucks, but it is also life. I mentioned to a friend yesterday that I watched more football last season, in a three day weekend, than I"ve seen this entire season. On another note...you guys can identify with this. I HATE home insurance companies in times like these. I have a 1K deductible...unless it's hurricane damage. Then, it's two percent of my home value. I've replaced 120' of privacy fencing, I have another 90'+ to do on the west side of the house, replaced gutters, fixed siding, cut trees down and hauled them off...and I"m still under that two percent. It's all cash out of pocket. That's sucks.
LIterally. I listened to the WS game last night because I couldn't sit down and watch your game with A&M. It was fun listening to baseball on the radio...in spite of all the bullshit. It's unrelated, but wild how this Yankees v Dodgers series has brought me back to the '80's. Memories, and all. It dawns on me that part of my "chronological memories" in life revolve around sporting events. The Freeman "slammer" in the 10th took me back to Gibson and where I was when I saw that hit.
The damage does suck but Im glad to hear it was only damage and not worse. Really feel for the folks in the mountains. Something Im not sure they ever experienced or prepared for.
