Mostly, I posted the "Blue Bloods" list, because LSU has moved up 5 spots since 2004. Obviously not the same list, but with the same "Royalty" teams. LSU is getting, very, veru close. The list hasn't changed much at all over the years. Although Nebraska seems to have a want to not compete with the big boys anymore. Firing Pelini for a Mike Riley..dumb. But they'll live for years on Tom Osbourne's achievements.
Did anyone actually think Jimbo Fisher was "The Answer"? See Jimbo beating Saban a lot? Really? I don't...at all. Many despised his bubble screen Offense when he was here. Looking at Florida 2006, Auburn too. Fisher's looking more & more like a coach that plays in a much weaker conference & got that 1 great player that won him a NC. Shades of Gene Chizik.. Contrast that to Miles 2007 team. We had a white running back that ran for over 1,000 yards & a Juco transfer, who made one of the best catches in school history to beat Auburn. Top 5 gutsiest calls I've ever seen in CFB. But the point is we had no Jameis Winston, crab leg stealing, Heisman winner on that team. One coach won it without a Superstar, the other one couldn't.
"Blue Bloods":
1. LSU doesn't have a winning record against any of those teams. Granted we've never played Michigan.
2. The "Blue Bloods", are not known for incredible passing games. Anyone see a Baylor, TCU or Oregons on that list? No. Historically, they are teams that made their name with a tremendously punishing Rushing attacks. I guess some could argue USC's passing under Carroll somewhat, but not really that successfully.
3. In 2004, our place in the CFB world was not close to where it is now. You average 10.2 wins over an 11 sessions & things get a whole helluva lot better. Except we have idiots in the athletic departmebt & boosters that have stabbed Miles in the back over the years, that need to be shown the door yesterday. The latest being "We ain't paying for Chavis or Dave Aranda, you can have Kevin Steele" fiasco. But I believe this is Miles final season here. I hope I'm wrong, but a fundamental trust has been broken. Some will dance like fools, the rest of us will realize a great football era has ended.
Here's the list of our 10 win seasons, though a lot of people don't bother to look. People can argue "We added 2 games to the schedule", all day. The fact is they added 2 SEC teams yearly & I've heard the SEC is pretty tough.
