If you have a clue, oil prices and gasoline prices are really a futures market. As you have said oil production world wide declined during Covid and is rebounding due to increased demand. You may not know but Ida hit significant refining hard in Louisiana. One refinery flooded and others were shut down for extended period cutting production by up to 750,000 barrels a day which impacted supply across the country. Also several refineries are in outage for winter work on gasoline production. Yet Biden ignores economic realities and again threatens to bring refiners to court. Oil companies are responsible to their share holders (much held in union and company pension funds) and can’t live in a liberal fantasyland. He’s reaping what he sowed

this is cutting production. so is pipeline restriction. pipelines take oil to refineries. stopping pipelines limits production.
