    They lost a ridiulous lawsuit to the La horsemen (something like $50 million) which had to do with an interpretation of the law for distribution of poker money. They had no choice.
    Krantz, as head of the La Breeders (ironic isn't it, not the same group that sued him, but many of the same people) had an opportunity to change the way in which La Bred supplements are paid - he decided not to - a change to open-company awards (instead of paying them to races restricted to state-breds) would have improved both racing and the quality of the La Bred.
    FG should have been sold 5 years ago to Churchill Downs. The reason it hasn't been is that they don't want to deal with the greaseball La politicians (which is essential - one new law and the jefferson otbs could be history) and a few other unsavory factors (which current management has kept a clamp on, the best they could).
    So my guess is that once FG gets slots, a casino corporation will buy FG, which will be to the detriment of FG and La Racing.
