It could have affected the outcome of the game. The PAT could have been blocked and returned by the defense for 2 points sending the game to overtime. Dooley screwed the pooch once again for taking his team to the locker room, thus forfeiting his own teams last chance and forfeiting the game.
Absolutely correct.... And this possibility also reinforces my position on the Hebert helmet thread that the expiration of the time clock does not mean the game is over. Otherwise, the extra point try and a possible block and runback are not possible.
