extra point???

    Nah, he'd have run a play that failed to score. Then we could have clocked it.

    Here's the rule...

    If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in the
    fourth period expires, the try shall not be attempted unless the point(s)
    would affect the outcome of the game.

    It could have affected the outcome of the game. The PAT could have been blocked and returned by the defense for 2 points sending the game to overtime.

    Dooley screwed the pooch once again for taking his team to the locker room, thus forfeiting his own teams last chance and forfeiting the game.

    Absolutely correct....

    And this possibility also reinforces my position on the Hebert helmet thread that the expiration of the time clock does not mean the game is over. Otherwise, the extra point try and a possible block and runback are not possible.
