As part of an official government program drunks in Berlin are going to be silently chastised by mimes acting out the consequences of overindulging.

The amazing thing about this is that somebody is going to give mimes a job and pay them.

Jamie Lee Curtis says she ruined so many takes during A Fish Called Wanda from laughing at Kevin Kline's improv, that she now hold a toothpick in her hand whenever she's working. She manipulates the toothpick to jab herself in the hand and cause pain whenever she feels herself about to break character.

During WWII, Navy engineers theorized that a cat could guide a bomb to a ship. They invented a harness for the cat that attached to the bomb's fins, the theory being, since cats hate water, when the bomb was dropped the cat would see a ship and by trying to steer itself there, would guide the bomb to the ship. It was actually tested at least once, but since the G forces rendered the cat unconscious, it was declared a failure.

Maybe not so little known but New Orleans in the Number One pest infected city

    1. New Orleans, Louisiana

With the hot and humid weather, the old buildings and the delicious food and drink for which New Orleans is known, is it any surprise that N’awlins is tops on the pest list, with 40.9 percent pest rate? New Orleans also placed tops in rats and a not-too-shabby second place, behind Tampa, in the roach category.
