Abita Andy Gator is supposed to be fairly strong. I don't know what the alcohol content is though.

Like the beer you are referencing, it is also a barleywine style ale that is mentioned further down in the article.

A friend had several bottles of the 1995 vintage when I was in BR for the holidays.

We tried to drink one, and he "gifted" me with the other one.

It is reminiscent of bad motor oil.

I don't believe that the 24% would be that much better...
