Best LSU finish for me was this one...

"LSU vs. Florida, October 11, 1997"

"The Tiger Stadium goal posts came down for the first time in 1997 as all of America witnessed one of the most explosive nights in the history of the grand old stadium when the Tigers upended No. 1 ranked Florida before a national television audience. A sea of fans swamped the floor of Tiger Stadium as both goal posts came crashing down - a scene that was replayed countless times in college football highlight shows. The Tigers were victorious 28-21."

Are you saying the Cannon run is ineligible? That's true of course as it occurred in 1959. The last second win over OM on the Bert Jones to Brad Davis pass was in 72 or 73, so it is eligible. I would think it would be pretty high.

Never mind, my bad, I see you were talking about the Cannon run. :eek:ldskule:

Not sure what year it was, 87 or 88, Archer was HC, LSU was in Columbus playing the Buckeyes. Both teams in the Top 5. LSU was leading by 15 with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter and OSU mounted and unlikely comeback to win the game. A great finish if you were a Buckeyes fan. Me, I couldn't sleep for two days due to the depression of losing that game.

Seems like the best finished would involve a last second play like the UK, Auburn and Ole Miss games. Cannon's run was at the very end of the game if it were eligible.

Kind of combining 2 different plays there from opposite sides of America.

By the way, I saw the Kordell Stewart pass the other day and had never realized how far he threw that ball, it must have been about 65 yards in the air. I bet the Stanford/Cal fiasco wins, it always seems to.

Cannon's run wasn't at the end of the game. LSU stopped OM from scoring on a goal line stand at the end the game.
