Right now it's to get cable companies to pick it up. Of course the cable company will package it as some extra service so you have to pay extra for it. The long term goal is to make it so every sports fan has to pay to see an NFL game. It will be like all of the best boxing matches are only pay per view. It's all about greed.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I actually expect them to come in with a 2 game losing streak and we will keep them on their path to the infamous December meltdown.
