No RVs, guys. That sucks right off the bat.

Also couldn't help but notice the "or location" reference. Sounds to me like a change in venue to something that rhymes with "Siger Tadium" may be LSU's compromise offer if Tubby and his gang insist on not playing November 6.

Then again, maybe I'm just reading too much into this. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Looking at the Weather Channel, there isn't projected to be any rain in Alabama on Saturday which leads me to believe the main concern is not the hurricane on Saturday, but rather, the trip TO Alabama in the hurricane. And for them to flip flop roles and having Auburn players driving in the hurricane is just inconceivable. ...although a change of venue would work out nicely in our favor

The authorities in East Alabama could also have to deal with a lot of aftermath type problems (power outages, damaged houses, etc.). Playing a football game for 86,000 fans would be a distraction they may not need. But forget the idea of moving the game...that won't happen.

I hope they can play this weekend, because that means Ivan went to Mexico or died in the Gulf. Unfortunately, I'm not betting on it.

There is no way that they could get tickets to LSU fans fast enough nor will Auburn travel to play back to back home games at LSU. This game will more than likely be moved due to the devestation and power outage that will go along with a storm of this magnitude if it hits anywheres near Auburn, AL. Auburn fans and Tub-O-Chit act as if Ivan is a Tropical Storm or Cat 1 Hurricane. I would be more worried of getting the heck out of Auburn than worrying about a freaking college game that can easly moved. Tubs is just worried that if he loses 3 games in a row at the end of the season that his arse will be packing up and moving out of Auburn. More worried about himself than the well being for the players and fans. Also, most of the hotels will be packed from evacuees and will not kick them out of the rooms for LSU and Auburn fans.

One thought I hadn't had before concerning a Sunday game could be a late Sunday start that could still be televised by CBS, maybe something like 7pm.

It's not impossible. All they're showing after 60 minutes is their own programming, so a 7pm game wouldn't be too out of the question, but that's really CBS's decision.

It'd be interesting to see where the conference comes down on this, which really should be to take Auburn's genuine concern as a primary interest for which they should fight first and foremost, but that'll only take you so far given the business side of the equation with CBS and it's programming, etc.

I wouldn't want to face LSU, Georgia and Alabama back to back to back, and Tubby's reluctance to do so is understandable, but at the end of the day I think it's gonna be CBS's call.

Cancelled game ... gonna reschedule Nov 6 or not at all

No way this thing doesn't cause cancellation of games ...

CAL vs SO. Miss ... gonna be cancelled ... this thing isn't a wimp like Frances with 115 mph winds ...

It's a 160+ mph Cat 5 cyclone from hell that will destroy anything it touches

    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...n_re_la_am_ca/hurricane_ivan&cid=589&ncid=716

At 8 p.m., Ivan's dangerous eye was just off Cuba's western tip.

Though its hurricane-force winds extend 115 miles and tropical storm-force winds another 220 miles, only about 10 miles of Cuba's sparsely populated western tip was forecast to suffer Ivan's devastating top winds, said Stacy Stewart, a hurricane specialist at the Hurricane Center.

It looked like part of the eye would cross the island, "not technically a direct hit but near enough," Stewart said. The entire eye must hit land for the hurricane to be considered to have made landfall.

The Hurricane Center warned of coastal storm surge flooding of up to 25 feet above normal tides with "large and dangerous battering waves" east of where it might make landfall. It also warned of life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.

Ivan was moving toward the north-northwest at 9 mph, with a more northwestward motion expected. :dis:

Does this look like a NNW movement ... :dis:

Look at the path this thing has taken ... Just one bad mofo ... It doesn't do "rap" and it sure as hell doesn't "disco" down ... New Orleans ... get the **** out NOW

    What people are forgetting

is this. On the weather channel those lines with the time frames is when the CENTER of the storm passes. This thing is #^#^%#*@(@^@(ing huge. The affects of this storm will be felt way into next week. They STILL don't have power in Fl from the past 2 storms. There is no need for a football game. They ONLY WAY the game will go on is if this thing ducks into Mexico, not happening, OR dies in the Gulf, which could happen.

If this thing makes landfall anywhere on the Fl, Bama coast the seer size will strech 150 miles. By Wednesday this game WILL be moved to a later date. Since the unversity heads would get BLASTED by the media and public if it chose to let players and coaches drive in this thing.

Calling it right here right now at 2351 monday night the game will be MOVED to Nov 6th Tub-O-Lard does not have any say in this one.
