Re: 3 days till bama I think you are the "dumb" one. How many times do you need to hear that THIS ISN'T THE SAME TEAM THAT PLAYED AGAINST ASU AND UT. No matter HOW much you hate to admit it, it is the TTTRRRRUUUUTTTTHHHHHH. How do you think your BAMA team would do after having faced an ASU team that still had hopes for a great season, in their stadium, after witnessing one of the worst national disasters ever--in the KIDS' homestate, no less? I'm not one to harp on the past, but Jesus Christ man, can you even fathom how hard that must have been for those guys? The fact that we even BEAT ASU is phenomenal--simply, utterly, quite easily one of our biggest wins this season...EVEN if we throttle USC in the Rose. It all has to do with how our team handled the situation. UT... let's talk about that one for a second. UT came out FLAT... Terrible.... just plain terrible. We jumped on top really quick and then got complacent. UT, in the mean time, changed QBs. Clausen (an LSU transfer, remember) was rudely welcomed (for shame Tiger fans) and if you don't believe that that fueled the young man, there is NO hope for you... Combine Clausen's emotion, LSU's coaching staff's complacency, the fact that this was a monday night game with an uninspired, for the most part, crowd AND team... how could we WIN that game? I digress, we should have. What you and the nation forget to realize is that LSU had to deal with a lot this year with a new coaching staff. We've yet to piece together a good game. Not even a decent game really, and definately NO good or great games. I feel bad for whichever team gets to feel the wrath of LSU once things get rolling. Those are just a few of the reasons why we are picking outlandish scores against your beloved Tide.
Re: 3 days till bama http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?div=4&rpt=IA_teamtotoff&site=org Not so fast my friend! LSU is 43rd (we're not THAT far behind in 59th) in total O, not 33rd. Also, we have played Arkansas (#55) and Florida (#61). Va Tech is 63rd so if we would have beaten them, they wouldn't have been an "average" offense??? Would that not have been a quality win??? I think that we will get into the endzone this week. Im not going to say that "we are due" like everyone else but I mean seriously, do you think this Bama team, with a very good QB, RB, and some young but talented recievers are just going to lay down and not score. This is the biggest game of the year and they know it...They know what's at stake. No doubt LSU is more talented and has recruited very well over the past few years but if you look at how many scholarships we lost (due to probation) and the coaching turmoil, but we had EVERY player stick with Bama when they had the option to transfer and play the following year! That's heart and the love for Alabama football. Sure, they may not have more talent, but they have a helluvalot of heart and dispite what some of you people say, that goes a long way. I love this team! Roll Tide!
Re: 3 days till bama Ah, and I suppose our team, playing for their home state which was devastated by 2 hurricanes, has no heart nor reason to play.
Re: 3 days till bama LSU-17 BAMA-6 Bama will control the game in the first half on d but their o will struggle. It will be bama6-lsu3 at half. In second half jamarcus gets hot and we score a td right at start of third on a big drive. Bama d deflates and we control the rest of the game.
Re: 3 days till bama I feel VERY comfortable with this game. Don't know why, but I think we win this one nicely.
Re: 3 days till bama Mr. Terry, I believe any outside factors such as what the Alabama senior class has been through are blown out of proportion. The last three years have been very stable, and it is nothing like having two hurricanes nearly destroy your state and make you lose seven pounds on average thereby causing fatigue which lead to a second half meltdown against Tenn. Any talk of what the Alabama senior class has been through is a Bama fan talking with his own heart rather than the cognition. This LSU team has been through something a lot worse this season by comparison and if heart was a factor at all, then it would at least be even for both teams. This is not to downplay the accomplishments of this Alabama squad, which are mighty indeed, but a mere sign of respect that other young men can go through hardship and still presevere. I have read too much on Bama boards about heart this and heart that, as if acting this LSU team or any other team does not know what hardship and preserverence is.
Re: 3 days till bama Yah.. we suck on gameday... we also suck on CBS.. until this year. Don't forget the Alabama Sport's Illustrated Cover curse. We have broken all of those jinxes so far this season....
Re: 3 days till bama Nobody is taking anything away from LSU...They have been through one of the worst disasters ever yes--I applaud them for the way they have played so far--except against UT. For the guy that blamed that meltdown on the hurricane--that's rediculous. They had the big head going into the locker-room thinking there was about to be a blowout, then stopped playing all together and lost. Fatigue from the hurricane didn't cause that c'mon. The Saints lost their stadium and everything--doesn't mean they were going to go on some magical run and whip everyone because they had been through so much. I know I shouldn't be comparing you guys to them because frankly, they suck... But my and terry's point is that they have formed a "family type" bond that has carried them this far into an undefeated season. The defense busts thier asses and they want it bad. I know nothing I can say will make any of you LSU fans realize how much of a "team" they are...But you guys have all seen it in every sport and in the NCAA tourny in bball. The best team doesnt always win. Some teams do go on magical runs that nobody would have thought of. Nobody gave Bama the time of day before the season started...Here comes that run! ROLL TIDE!
