Does anyone know who we will be playing for the opener next season?

Sounds like it will most likely be the Oregon State Beavers. They are trying to get out of their game with Temple this year so that they can come play us. It will be nice to play an OOC opponent who isn't in the SunBelt.

I hope it will be the Beavers. Although they are no USC, Michigan, or other teams in that upper group, they are a decent team. They come from a major conference and are a respectable team. If this does not work get ready for some one like ULL yet again.

I also think this would be very nice, a decent team to warm up
    with from USucks conference

For once, I wouldn't be upset with a "rent-a-win" team for the opener... we're losing Hunt, Mauck, Donnie Jones, Devery Henderson, Clayton, Lavalais... I know we have a lot of talent, but I'd prefer an easy warm-up game if possible.

Oregon St. Has a good team. a reputable program and a good fan base. I wouldn't get too cocky about playing them or anyone else for that matter. Oregon St. has been recruiting the last few years and "on any given day".

In case my post was not clear, I am not including Oregon State in the "rent-a-win" category of teams...

I think it was more directed at sourdoughs comment about it being a "warm up" game. I tend to agree with you that they will not be a rent a win. I think it's a game we should win, however, and if we can't, we don't deserve to play for a National Title anyway. That's the way I look at it.

I'd much rather have an Oregon State than to have another I-AA team.

I would consider this a warm up win considering it will be a home
game and with the personnel we have on the football field.

Pretty much our defense in tact from this year.

    I'll put it this way,

I don't care how good or bad Oregan State is, OU couldn't score on our D as good as they were offensively without turnovers.

We could lay an egg and lose this game but With the quality of
Defense returning and whatever offense is returning....

This should be a warmup game.......

I agree with sourdough. With the caliber of players that we have OSU should be a warm-up game. If we drop a game to OSU we have no buisiness in a national championship. No offense to OSU, I feel like they are a good program, but they are not a top tier team.
