One play in the tournament doesn't make much difference where a player goes. Maybe if the player carries his team on his back and makes play after play his draft stock goes up. Stro's stock went up because he was one of the most athletic guys in the draft and he is 6'9". The scouts hoped he could develop some more skills and a jump shot once he made the pros. He's still one of the most athletic guys in the NBA and regularly appears on sportscenters top 10 list with sick dunks. But his stock didn't increase just because he made block in an NCAA tourney game.
Most folks didn't even know dude's NAME until that defining moment. Then SI gave him a full spread, which helped even more. I had friends that gave me props after that that had NO IDEA who he was. I DO think that it pushed him from top 5 into the #2 spot... PUBLICITY HELPS! PS Had Mihm dunked, it would have TIED IT UP with the clock running out - it was a HUGE play...
not sure how publicity helps move you up in the NBA draft unless it involves a local product to the team. I mean cmon larry brown chose darko milicic over high schooler lebron. With all the euros and hs'ers in the recent and current drafts, its obvious little to no weight is put on a game or 4 in the ncaa trny when it comes to investing in a lottery pick.
