Yeah, but it is different to claim SECW champ in a sport where you truly earned it on the court. Ole Miss's claim to the SECW champ. in football in 2003 was not legit. because they lost to LSU on the field and did not go to the SECCG, where the real SECW champ goes.

Congrats to LSU basketball and John Brady.
Its been one hell of a year in basketball.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the year!
Hopefully we can win some games in the tournaments!

We were "co-west SEC Champions" last year, but Bama held the tie breaker.

The only difference is that homerism blinds hypocricy.

Hypocrisy must be the most misspelled word in the English language. :hihi:

Yeah, but that tiebreaker was not based on head-to-head outcomes because LSU and Bama split last year. The seed in the SEC tourney was determined by the 3rd or 4th tiebreaker. So technically, head-to-head, the teams truly were even. You cannot say the same about LSU and Ole Miss football in 2003.

I wouldn't say that we stole anything from bama. We are clearly the better team. (And after last night's win and bama's previous loss to Arkansas, we are now 3 games better)

As for Ole Miss...:eek:lefire: the pic speaks for itself.

You really don't understand do you? OM and LSU tied for the secw because OM beat FLA and FLA beat LSU then LSU beat OM. Statistically, these two "tied" for the western division champs. Both were co champs. Had Fla. not lost another sec game, there would have been tri-champs. LSU won the head to head thus the right to the seccg. Deservedly so. And then on to the SB and the NC. Again--they deserved it.

No, you don't understand. What LSU and Ole Miss did against Florida in 2003 in football has nothing to do with how the SEC west championship was decided because Florida is in the SEC east. So no, there could not have been any SEC west "tri-champs." LSU beat Ole Miss on the field, that is why LSU was the SEC west champ. Get your facts straight.:eek:lefire:

yes but like the BCS we knew the rules beforehand and agreed on the tiebreaker as a league. therefore, we were co-nothing. we were 2nd in the west.
