USM strands a runner at 3rd. The UT shortstop made a heck of a play to steal a hit and keep the runner from scoring. #1 National Seed Texas with only two hits in four innings. They may still win the CWS but they've yet to impress me as the #1 seed. They're only hitting .287 as a team.
They're up 4-2 as the runner from 2nd scored on a 2-out single. The batter swung at the pitch and the ump called it a ball. USM had a batter the previous inning that was called for a strike when he didn't swing. I'm glad Orel Hershiser mentioned it as well. I hate when they aren't consistent. USM needs another HR. Not exactly a Kirk Gibson return for Dozier, but he loaded the bases. Next batter walks, USM ties the game! FC tries to get the out at home, but the catcher can't bring it in. USM takes the lead! Southern Miss leaves the bases loaded, up 5 to 4 going into the bottom of the 8th. Hang in there Southern Miss!
