Rivals is reporting LSU got a commitment from Sam Gibson out of Prattville, AL. Listed as an ATL, 6'2, 200, 4.4 Never heard of him before today, anybody know anything about the kid, his offers list seems a bit underwhelming but the kid must be good in the class room with offers from Vandy, UVA and Stanford. Must have had a great showing at the camp.
Re: Sam Gibson - commitment coaches must have seen something that no one else has yet. Anybody know anything about him?
Re: Sam Gibson - commitment They saw something also I wonder what position they have in mind because he plays QB but he does have great size that probably can transfer to many position. Here is some film of him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc9FIcQXXZ4
Re: Sam Gibson - commitment Was told he was being recruited as a DB by most schools. Not sure where Les likes him though -- seems like most think Safety. Prattville is well coached and is one of the best teams in the country too.
Re: Sam Gibson - commitment I have been reading updates on him but never thought we were that much of a player for him and that the staff was serious about him. As of now I think he is a Safety.
Re: Sam Gibson -(committed to LSU) I think he could very well end up as the dual-threat QB of this class. He's a great athlete and comparable to Munchie. ESPN feels like he would be a solid QB in a spread system and that he just needs work on his technique. They said he's a great decision maker, throws great on the run, etc. Definite redshirt.. but a solid pickup. If Alabama/Auburn come knocking i'm not sure we hang on to him though..
Re: Sam Gibson -(committed to LSU) I could see him as a buffer QB in this class. Munchie has not been too impressive in camp and if we land Zach Lee we will have to worry about him possibly playing baseball at LSU instead or going to the MLB.
