1. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

Yes, it wasn't official when I posted above because he committed to Coach Robinson and was waiting to talk to Miles.
  2. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

Oh he is officially recruited as an ATH.

Will end up at either DE, LB, or FB/H-Back.
  3. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

So, is Bates 6'2", 215? Or 6'3", 240? Scout and Rivals aren't even close to being agreement on this. ESPN split the difference at 6'2", 230.
  4. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

    Today he said 6'2, 218
  5. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

Does he have the frame for DE? Judging by pictures and leveraging my absolute derth of expertise on this, I'd say he's not getting much over 235 in the next two years without porking up.

He looks like a LB. Great LB name. I'm calling Miles and the Chief....:)
  6. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

I have to agree with you Bandit. I'm betting he won't be a DE too. After all, how can you disagree with someone who manages to use the word "derth" in reference to a recruit.
I had heard ILB attached to him originally and questioned if we had room at that particular position. We seem to be getting verbals from an abundance of athletes and tweeners lately.
  7. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates (committed to LSU)

He doesn't have a very impressive offer sheet yet.
  8. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates (committed to LSU)

Yes he does. LSU offered him...and he committed. That's VERY impressive.

    Good enough for me.
  10. Re: 2010 DE Houston Bates

Well technically, it was a reference to me. And I misspelled it. :rolleye33:

    Dearth.
