I would give us a slight edge over Ole Miss and other schools in the running like MSU, etc... I would say 60% at this time just because he has friends on the team already from his numerous visits over the years and familiarity with Baton Rouge and the coaching staff.
Last I heard he wanted to make a name for himself - not follow in his brother's footsteps. IMO, the closer he gets to our coaching staff the less of a factor that will be.
True and I heard the same but I have also heard his parents want him to go to LSU but are not pressuring him. I also think he could be downplaying LSU because he does want recognition and offers from other schools. Ole Miss seems like the best bet to get him if he does not end up at LSU. He mentioned that he wanted to go where he had a lot of friends and he mentioned he had more that a few at Ole Miss. LSU has to be up there for that reason as well.
CParso this is no time to be rational.:hihi: Where is my man Izzy. Izzy tell these guys Travis is coming to LSU. Here is why. His father has ties to Cowbell U. Who in there right mind wants to waste away at Moo state. He watched his older brother win a BCS title and catch a TD doing it. He will practically be his brother's replacement if he comes to LSU. The depth chart is really not a big problem. The comments about him being open and his own man, blah, blah, blah, could be a smoke screen by his older brother to keep the pressure off of him. After he has his fun feeling the love from the typical SEC schools he will end up a Tiger.
I don't see this as a problem. Dickson has been solid, but not dominant. I see his brother's name as a good thing (similar to the Steltzs or Taylors), not a burden.
I think it is safe to say that he will be a TE in college based on his last update. Every program is telling him that.
Here's a good article on Travis Dickson: Ocean Springs' puts second Dickson on Dandy Dozen | clarionledger.com | The Clarion-Ledger
Looks like he is being recruited as a TE mainly by most schools including LSU. We are not looking at him as a DE.
