2 regular season games. 1 catch. Very little tackles. I like the guy. I know Richard and I root for Travis...but I have had some coaches tell me that 2 games into the season he has not looked great SO FAR. Take it fwiw.
How many times does a high school team throw to it's tight end? I would assume very little. We recruited him for TE definitely and we won't get much of a read on that position from his play this year unfortunately.
Ocean Springs is playing Moss Point tonight in O.S. I am not at the game tonight for reasons that I won't get into. Just got a text from a friend who knows what he's talking about. He said that "Dickson is TEARING IT UP on D" tonight. At halftime he has "2 or 3 tackles for a loss" :thumb::wave: Update: My coach friend just called me. It's halftime. Tie ballgame 7-7. Said he had one carry as a FB and ran some dude slap over. Also said that Dickson is "running about 50% this year b/c of an injured ankle" which explains alot. He said that his ankle is bandaged up and everything. DeAndre Brown is at the game. Figured he'd be in Hattiesburg. Update 9:18pm: Here is another text: "Another tackle for a loss..he's really really good. not to mention he ran between the tackles for 15 on 4th and 1" Update 9:55pm: Travis Dickson's Greyhounds were down 14-13 with 3 minutes left in the game. Ocean Springs scores a TD and Travis Dickson ran the 2 point conversion to give Ocean Springs the 21-14 win. Way to go, Dickson!!! Geaux Greyhounds!
I'm hearing that Travis Dickson is waivering on his commitment to LSU....says he is "upset with the way LSU is treating his brother". This is certainly something to keep an eye on.
:geaux: What could LSU possibly being doing to Richard? I know he's hurt, but how could they treat him badly? He's been playing regularly for the last 3 years so this is a mystery. Hope it turns out to be a false rumor 'cause I'm really looking forward to Travis at LSU. :LSU231:
I don't think it's LSU per se, it's the QB. Toliver is JJ's favorite receiver, even when he's covered. LaFell gets a few and Dickson has been virtually ignored. Not checking down fast enough. I'm sure other teams have noticed this. Cover Toliver and get a sack.
:geaux: OK, I gotcha. I have to admit that I wondered about what happened to Dickson during some earlier games as well. Thought about why JJ wasn't looking for Dickson when he was under heavy pressure and taking sacks, etc. Also, not many slants and middle screens/dumps over the middle to the TE. Sad because Dickson has been a great weapon on offense the last three years. Hope the staff can get this resolved SOON. :LSU231:
Dickson not touching the ball has been one of my biggest complaints all year. I don't know if it's Crowton or JJ. Either way, it's almost criminal how little he has touched the ball this year. If what Cajun Sensation says is true then it sounds like Tiger fans aren't the only one unhappy with the way Dickson hasn't been used this year.
