BhelmLSU, after it is all said and done will Lewis be an 3 or a 4 star commitment? LSU is loading up on the 4 star Commitments. It is looking like another top 10 recruiting class for 2011.

Likely a 4* but we have to hope he doesn't have any setbacks and can take part in camps this summer and he has a healthy senior year.

That’s because the two-way player, who LSU began recruiting as a receiver, has turned so many heads on the other side of the ball that the Tigers will now have the luxury of playing him a receiver or cornerback when he gets to Baton Rouge next fall.
“Early on they thought he was certainly a receiver, but after this summer’s camp that Alonzo attended, he received much more additional notice as a defensive back,” said St. James coach Rick Gaille. “Right now, I don’t know what their staff is thinking other than they’ve got someone who can help their football team and certainly play somewhere.”
At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Gaille said the St. James athlete possesses a rare combination of flexibility, back pedaling and cover skills for a player of his size.
“What makes him unique is that he has a modern wide receiver build at 6′3, 200 pounds and growing but with collegiate cornerback skills,” said the Wildcats coach. “A lot of people his size and with his receiving ability are somewhat limited as a defensive player, but the LSU staff is going to have a difficult choice. There’s going to be a lot of professional fighting on trying to get him on either the offensive or the defensive side of the ball.”
Even though Lewis is listed as running a 4.9 40-yard dash on rivals.com, Gaille feels LSU fans shouldn’t be alarmed, joking that he might run a 4.9 50-yard dash.
“They timed him after he pulled his hamstring last year,” said Gaille. “Right now, he’s somewhere between 4.55 and 4.6.”
