Lamar plays RB and LB for Teurlings Catholic in Lafayette and was just offered by LSU a few days ago. He is a load at RB but I see him coming in on the defensive side of the ball at MLB.

Rivals list him as an athlete.

    6'0
    205
    4.54

Currently holds offers from LSU, UF, Vandy, A&M, and ULL.

He looks like a Chavis-type LB; small, but instinctive and lightning fast.

Brett, care to shed any light on the abundance of instate LB/DE offers? I understand that there is almost an unprecedented amount of LB/DE talented in Louisiana this year. It seems to me that we have offered our higher board prospects, and probably had to offer the in-state borderline kids that may have been getting too close to an outside school. My question is, do you yet know who the staff all wants for these positions, how many they would take, and where they might end up?

    Louis
    Davis
    Granier
    Phillips
    Devall
    Feist

And thats not to include Mcfarland, Lathan, Deion Jones, Juwaan Rogers, any under the radar prospects or out of state prospects...

We need depth and we are going to take it while the iron is hot because we rarely have a year with so many D1 LB talent. We will take the best tweeners are see where they stand after they arrive.

Louis could be a SLB, MLB, or RB
    Grainer is a MLB
    Davis is a LB
Devall could be DE, OLB, MLB
    Feist is OLB
    Phillips is a OLB

Rogers is likely OLB as well and may end up in this class but up for debate IMO.

Chavis will make them learn all the spots at LB like he does best. The fast rush ends like who come in on 3rd for the pass rush also play a part in Chavis' defense. We will have plenty of those types as the settle into permanent spots on the depth chart.

he got an offer from Florida as a LB and from Texas A&M as a RB

keep in mind that highlight reel above is from when he was a 15-16 year old sophomore, the fall before last. pretty impressive for that age.

here is a picture of him from a month ago at the Schuman National Underclassmen Combine in Zachary, where he won "Strongest Man/Combine King" ... these were his measurables: age 17, 6'0"/210, 4.49 forty, 4.41 shuttle, 9'4 broad jump, 37 inch vertical, and 27 bench press reps at 185 lbs
