goddammit Miami and UCF now we have to face some school from Long Island nobody has heard of Stony Brook is #1 in the NCAA in win pct, and of the Super Regional teams they are: #1 in batting avg (#2 in NCAA), #1 in ERA (#7 in NCAA), #1 in fielding percentage (#2 in NCAA), #1 in on-base percentage (#5 in NCAA), #1 in slugging percentage (#2 in NCAA) #1 in triples per game (#1 in NCAA)
more like Houston's top ranked passing game plus TCU's top defense that year they were in the top, plus whatever non-major school had top ranked special teams, running game, etc...all combined to make one team hell, Stony Brook just had a guy get taken in the draft as the #9 overall position player taken from the NCAA ranks...better than anybody in our line-up (and we have the SEC Player of the Year)
Exactly... don't sleep on these guys. They've already won 50 games this year against only 12 losses and their confidence right now, winning their regional from the losers bracket, is sky high.
To quote Charles Hanigriff, "Stony Brook's got some players, podnuh." They are not to be taken lightly, even though none of us knew what state the school is in before this weekend.
Not sure which direction the "heads" were pointed today but the "legs" had a hard time scoring runs. I am worried.
