@Tiger in NC looking at your list and realizing I completely forgot about Rickey Jefferson. He's got to be in there, I'm just not sure where yet. He could possibly take the FS job from Martin.

I doubt Welter and Martin will start.

No way does Dupre start. I know he's highly ranked, but so are all of he other receivers on the roster and they have the benefit of having a year in the offense. Dupre is going to need some work before he plays. I think Dural, Petersen and Diarse will be your top 3. Spears should fight for playing time as well. Of the new guys, Quinn is the most likely to see meaningful playing time.

I don't see Ronald Martin starting, however the Safety position has always been pretty flexible. I think the top 4 you will see getting playtime there are Mills, Martin, Adams and Thompson. Mills and Thompson are on the field first during week 1. Anything after that is speculative.

My prediction is for how the season will begin. I think Garrett will take Welter's job early in the season, and I wouldn't doubt Martin losing his job either.

Quite possible. But it is a rare freshman who is ready to start game one. Especially a MLB being expected to read defenses and make defensive calls. He'll have to earn the confidence of his coaches and teammates. Hard to do that in August practice.

    But stranger things have happened.

I agree. That's why we have to pray the light comes on for Louis. He is a great athlete. His instincts and smarts (play calling) are lagging behind apparently.

I don't know who would start over Martin at this point.

OK, here my personal preference won out over trying to predict what this coaching staff might do. I know he played mostly DE this year, but we are much deeper at DE than at OLB, and I think Beckwith's skill set translates very well to the sam position. Its the best way to get him on the field, imo.

    Where would you put him?
