1. Could be worse, Im a product of EBR Magnet program. Something that is more or less non-existent now.
  2. The bottom line is that if a kid wants an education, he/she can really get it anywhere. However, there are certainly good, bad, and very ugly schools out there.

  3. Sure but it sux when youre smarter than your teacher. Nothing personal...
  4. It's not only the intelligence of the teacher; it's a matter of knowing how to effectively deliver what you know.

I enjoy teaching gifted and talented students the most. Some teachers are scared to teach them because of their high IQ's; however, they are really thinkers, which is fun for me. A challenge.
  5. A 14? Holy shit.
  6. True. My choice of words should have been lazy or indifferent. I have no doubt if I had a teacher like you, I would stay motivated. Especially on mojo Fridays.

Good thing I was never in @StaceyO class

Probably would have ended badly just like my other teachers

  8. I was really young when I realized that I was smarter than most of the adults that I encountered. Fortunately I was barely smart enough to realize that they all crushed me on knowledge and experiences and that it takes all three to become wise. And acquiring that knowledge takes a lot of time so you just have to be patient. Fortunately I only had a couple of dud teachers growing up. Most of them were pretty good at spotting the sponges and keeping a steady flow of knowledge going into them. Teachers who have the skill to keep the fast movers interested and learning in a situation that can easily lead to boredom and coasting are rare . . . so you should pat yourself on the back, amiga.
