The bottom line is that if a kid wants an education, he/she can really get it anywhere. However, there are certainly good, bad, and very ugly schools out there.
It's not only the intelligence of the teacher; it's a matter of knowing how to effectively deliver what you know. I enjoy teaching gifted and talented students the most. Some teachers are scared to teach them because of their high IQ's; however, they are really thinkers, which is fun for me. A challenge.
True. My choice of words should have been lazy or indifferent. I have no doubt if I had a teacher like you, I would stay motivated. Especially on mojo Fridays.
I was really young when I realized that I was smarter than most of the adults that I encountered. Fortunately I was barely smart enough to realize that they all crushed me on knowledge and experiences and that it takes all three to become wise. And acquiring that knowledge takes a lot of time so you just have to be patient. Fortunately I only had a couple of dud teachers growing up. Most of them were pretty good at spotting the sponges and keeping a steady flow of knowledge going into them. Teachers who have the skill to keep the fast movers interested and learning in a situation that can easily lead to boredom and coasting are rare . . . so you should pat yourself on the back, amiga.
