6-5, 295 lbs Havana, FL Looking like it might be an FSU/LSU battle, with Florida in the mix as well. Got a late offer from LSU just this month. LSU definitely needs to add at least 1 more O-lineman in this class. LSU is getting his very last visit on the 24th of January.
Look for his recruitment to heat up after the dead period. LSU really needs another O-lineman in this class. Obviously won't be easy beating FSU for him if they are coming off a national championship.
What is the state of FSU's O line? Are they young or loaded with Jrs & Srs? That may play a roll in his decision. If Collins goes NFL we will be thin and the kid could be an early player like Poscic. Apparent need may be as important. It appears that was one thing that swung Brown to the Gumps. With the CB play they exhibited last night he is a starter. Of course you could also say Nick has lost his touch as a DB coach too....
FSU currently has 6 (as in Six) O-linemen commitments in this class. That's crazy they would take an 8th. And how does a kid who isn't exactly highly touted by the recruiting services (except for 247sports) going to let himself get caught up in that numbers game. I look for LSU to pick up this kid.
The LSU guys at 247sports (Sonny and Shea, no that's not a typo for Sonny and Cher) both just voted for Kelly to LSU.
I wonder where that is coming from though. Is distance becoming an issue. I think he would have gone to FSU which is only 15 minutes away from his house if FSU didn't have so many OL committed. Florida has a decent amount of commitments too and 3 of them were early enrollees. LSU just makes sense.
Agreed 100 %. We need him in this class and that should be the driving force to get him to commit on NSD.
So let's re-visit this. Why did Kelly pick FSU? I can see UF, but FSU signed six tackles in this class. SIX! What the hell?!?!?!? They couldn't get by with five?
