It doesn't piss me off a bit. We have no constitutional right to not be inconvenienced. A democratic government is all about tradeoffs. I honestly have no problem with a trivial personal delay in obtaining a weapon if it helps keeps guns in the hand of law-abiding citizens and out of the hands of kids, kooks, and felons. It would be very selfish of me to put a trivial personal concern over the best interests of the United states of America. Shootings are out of control in the country, we MUST take all reasonable measures to protect ourselves and more effective background checks seem quite reasonable and pragmatic to me. And if done right the background checks need not be days but hours. With todays computer power and databases it is entirely possible to better identify a buyer and go through several levels of vetting without undue delay.
