Sounds like he throws almost every pitch in the strike zone. He must be getting ahead of the count on every hitter.

Gold slips past White 1-0 in 5 innings.

    White
    LF DiGiacomo 0-3
    DH Mathis 0-3 1K
    1st Bianco 0-2
    DH Garza 1-3
    3rd Reid 0-2
    2nd Dugas 0-2
    C Willis 0-1 1BB

    Pitchers
    Gunter 92mph 1IP 1H
    Threadgill 90mph 1IP 1H 1BB
    George 90mph 1IP 2H 1ER 1wp
    Peterson 92mph .2IP 1H

    Gold
    RF Duplantis 0-3
    2nd Broussard 1-3
    SS Smith 1-2 2sb
    LF Cabrera 1-2 1RBI
    CF Watson 0-2
    1st Beloso 1-2
    3rd Hughes 1-2
    C Doughty 0-0 1BB

    Pitchers
    Walker 85mph 3.2IP 1H
    Beck 1.1IP 1BB 1K

Garza's single was a sharp grounder off Walker's right leg. It bounced 15' in the air toward the first base line. I thought that Walker was done for the scrimmage, at least, but the trainer checked him out and he continued to pitch well for two more innings.*

Well yes. All of your efficient guys do. That's why Hess had a 5+ era last year. But we have to start him. Todd Peterson is the new Hess.

    I smell the grass already

Some pre-season Way too early predictions from a panel of 8 poll from D1...

National champs: LSU picked by 2, Vandy by 4, UCLA bt 1 and the hawgs by 1.

Freshman of the year: 4 picked Landon Marceaux. Josh Smith got a pick for breakout player of the year.

A mega way too early maybe KOD for golden spikes prediction to Zach Hess. I really do want Hess to defy all odds this year, so maybe if they slip him a little xanax, it all might come together.

They have this machine that measures the explosiveness of our athletes. Jaden Hill measured the 3rd best of all athletes on campus. Interesting to see him Sunday but Saturday is the game I'm most interested.

Hess and the others won't pitch much past 50 pitches I'm sure. 4-5 innings

I saw Cole Henry the kid from Bama hitting 97 on the gun. Interesting relief guy.

Rotation and lineup for the weekend

    Friday - Hess
    Saturday - Marceaux
    Sunday - Jaden Hill
    Tuesday - Henry
Wednesday - Walker - Walker to pitch out of the bullpen Friday night

    1. Smith
    2. Broussard
    3. Duplantis
    4. Cabrera
    5. Watson
    6. Garza
    7. Bianco
    8. Mathis
    9. Hughes

Thought it was a weird deal with Walker, but I understand CPM is concerned with North Western on Wednesday

I would lead off with Duplantis and have Smith hitting in the 3 hole.

Garza is gonna K a lot so 6 makes sense for now. No Beloso surprising. I thought bianco was behind. But he's grooming him to relieve Mathis eventually? I didn't like Drew's glove at 3b but cpm likes his bat.

If Broussard and Hughes can produce at the plate look out. Mathis is at 8 because hes gonna be tired and bc this lineup is loaded. Kid looks in great shape however. He's all out at practice. I think cpm is like a kid in a candy store already. Could be a problem with his over managing the offense.
