Apparently Les stated that we has 21 current verbal commitments at Lunch with Les today. Rarely do we see him admit to silent commitments which was surprising. Let the guessing game start now on the 3 silent commits.
Saw that, but his calling them soft commits was kind of confusing(as usual ). Is he calling silent soft or are they true soft commits?
Speedy Noil was a silent commitment, yep he's coming, still waiting. Former LSU Coach Jerry Stovall once said a kid was only as good as his word. If they told him that they were coming to LSU, he said that they should keep their word.
I know it is confusing. Some recruiting sites list anyone a soft verbal that takes a visit elsewhere after commiting. However, Miles is mentoring 3 verbal commits not listed on the sites.
Many times a kid wants to make his choice on TV at a AA game, some want their parents to make a visit to the school of their choice, too many things can come into play. The main thing is not waiting on a kid signing day, only to have him sign somewhere else. Most good coaches know when a kid is BS them. You'd better, being left on signing day isn't fun. This is why at times, Les and the staff will have a kid wanting to grey shirt, if someone passes on signing day, that kid moves up.
Mullen, Fulton, Manual. First two seem obvious but Manual may be a reach. I'm sure we'd all be good with that trio.
I would say Fulton for sure is one based on what I heard when it happened at camp early in summer. Mullen is very likely and Manual is not as far as a reach as expected from what I have gathered. I will check and see what I can find out.
"Soft commit" and "I'm Still Looking" are synonymous in my opinion. I know why we play this game, but I never expect them to pan out. Hell 2 or 3 "hard" commits de-commit every year.
