Van is a great hire! His accent is funny but this guy knows basketball and he will win everyone over. This guy is hilarious, I hope he gets air time (radio and t.v.) in Baton Rouge like he did in Houston. I can guarantee recruiting won't drop off for the lady tigers with him at the helm. He is a straight shooter with a country accent and his priorities are right on (I'm sure the parents will love him.) He has more experience then you could imagine, I think he has been the color analyst for a some Rocket games. It's hard to explain but once y'all get to hear him speak and cut-up you'll see Skip made a good hire. Personally, I don't know how this hire was pulled off. I think we ended up very lucky. No, I'm not a big girls basketball fan, I'm just letting some of you guys know that there shouldn't be any worries about recruiting or coaching with the new coach. You'll see after a few months of quotes and interviews, he's a funny dude.
Didnt want to start a seperate thread but Carla Berry has decided to go elsewhere. I can see why, she doesnt want to be that coach who is recognized for blowing the whistle and asked the same questions everyday. But I am glad she di and I respect her for it and her decision to move on. Bob Starky has also confimed he is staying along with all the other coaches.:thumb:
I'm coming in 2 weeks late on this, but here it goes. This is a message board. On message boards, people tend to post attachments that are funny, and take shots at other people in jest when they say things that are silly. If you can't take it, then You might need to go back to elementary school.
Only when it gets too personal... ask score. I've changed quite a bit in the 3.5 years i've been on this board. I used to take things very seriously (10+ posts per day will do that for you), and it earned me a nickname and a not-so-stellar reputation.
