Imagine the 2 LSU teams without a joke of a 3pt line in college bball. how many times this year have you heard "but they are only up by.." while watching/listening to the men? how does a team shoot 60% in a half while the other shoots 30%, both have about the same # of turnovers and ft's but the 30% team has a 3 point lead? the 3 point line is way to close. not a huge deal for the ladies because they are so much better then most teams they will still pull away. at least until they play good teams. as for the men its cost them a couple of games(Ohio St/Houston come to mind) or at least made them close, and close games go either way. yes i know its the same distance for both teams but that distance should be 2 feet back.
I would like to see the line moved back to NBA range. I think the girls should have to shoot it from there also. You want to play a man's sport then shoot where we do.
Probably the #1 way to chart a game is the number of possessions (# of shots taken). Shooting % alone can manipulate major stats without knowing how the game was played out. You could easily have a team shoot poorly and still have a lead even without a 3 pt shot. Offensive rebounds is another key stat that would go hand-in-hand with the number of possessions that could neutalize a better shooting team. The 3 pt line in college/high school has certainly changed the game. Some good, like building on a lead or cutting into a lead. Some bad, like kids today who will practice over and over trying to hit a 20 ft shot, but can't hit a mid-range jumper, a 5 foot bank shot, or a FT.
all you'd have to do in women's is play with a regulation ball and the 3 % would be cut in half. if you moved it back as well the scores would be in the 40's.
