Terry no problem. I openly admit what you say. Now, tell us how many of Bama's MNCs have been won outright (shared with no one).:thumb:
Hell, you can actually win the National Championship Game and still have some California team proclaim themselves co-champions. Most credit Bama with six, . . . which is still three times LSU's total and six times Auburn's. :hihi:
Or a California team winning it and some Alabama team proclaiming themselves Champions too....or was that the "People's Champions".
Touche'. I'm admit, I wonder about '45 myself. I can't say I would claim that, but don't know enough about the history of *why* they chose to claim that year. Then comes the debate of AP and UPI that we've just recently seen with BCS and AP. One thing I'll stand behind, big time, are the ones SEC teams won before the AP. No matter if there were 5-6 voting groups. Like '25, the trip across the country to face a team that the media nationwide had said would kill any school in the South. Everyone has their opinions about those before the AP. And, I suspect (barring a playoff) that debate will continue now but will be replaced if the AP goes against the BCS again. Think about how that conversation will go 50 years from now between LSU fans and USC fans. Bottom line, this is my retort every time. While the University has been selected as MNC more than 20X, and the NCAA's web site chooses to acknowledge 17 of them, our University has chosen to honor 12. While I may not agree with that, it is what my University has chosen. Right now, I'm just looking forward to #22, SECC. The rest will work its own way out. FWIW, someone commented the guy sitting in for Finebaum yesterday was calling the '93 (?) undefeated season under TT as an NC. A long time ago it was a fun debate. Now, when you see it on message forums, it can give you a picture about a poster.
Amatuer, not bad from a cell phone, but if anyone is interested... I think the background is the Foo Fighters...at least, it sounds like them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG6lCHrA3uU
You have a very good memory. That was the same year i was thinking of. Probably the best Bama team ever.10/10 tie between ND and Mich.St. and ND. still wins the NC. That was the beginning of the HATE for ND. I always loved it when LSU put a whoopin on them.
No arguement. I was just noting that of those twelve, most were shared. Anyhow, enough of that. Any discussion of MNCs always opens a can of worms.
I can't remember what the President's name was, your President, but it's not a widely known point about '57 that he petitioned a lot of voters for a vote for Auburn. It worked. It's not a dig at you, but, it is the first time I have heard of an active movement like that. Today, we see it all the time...
I usually dont like to repeat rumors but i heard something amazing about the Alabama spring game!!! I heard they imported 92000 ushers from the Auburn area to work the game. Since Bama people cant read they needed that many ushers to help them find their seats. Also paid the Barners to stay and clean the stadium after the game. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
The poster implied that the "tide is turning" in the the Bama-Auburn head to to head matchup, due to the recent acquisition of coach Saban. Seeing as how Saban has a losing record against Tubby, what makes you guys think Saban will have an easier time beating Tubby at Bama?
