The nicest part is when one of the moderators (though I'm guessing it's tongue-in-cheek) is predicting Auburn will be beat LSU because Marcus Spears and Corey Webster will be sidelined by preseason injuries, and Justin Vincent and Alley Broussard will get in trouble, ala Cecil the Deisel. http://mb8.theinsiders.com/fauburnfrm2.showMessage?topicID=60114.topic
As I said, I was sure it was tongue-in-cheek, but I do hate to see people post things (even in jest) about college athletes being seriously injured. To borrow one of the favorite words of the Auburn fans on their Insiders board, it isn't "classy."
I'll take a new, unproven QB over Jason Campbell any day. We have Saban and they have Tubby. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!The Aubbies are in for a surprise, but, alas, hope springs eternal. I'm sick of food, DVD and "which is better" threads. Bring on some good ole Auburn bashing.
Probably most if it in jest... But I think he was serious at the bottom of the thread when he said "no meaner than throwing rocks at Tiger Walk Tommy in Baton Rouge a few years ago." What is it with these people? The take an accident of a mini-football hitting the guy during their walk into the stadium and now it has become him being stoned as he entered the stadium. They find it easier to spread false stories about LSU fans because they don't have the on-the-field talent to back anything else up. :cuss:
Well, if they're going to make something more of an incident, we'll claim they tried burn our fans alive in some sort of sick ritual sacrifice back in the mid-90's. LOL
White Power and Hookers??? MRKGREEN's reference to white power and hookers? That is cheap whether in jest or not. In Auburn speak, "its just not classy." God forbid anybody make the same reference of white powder and hookers when speaking of the sacred cows Williams and Brown. A "classy" move like that will get you a lifetime ban for sure, even if it was just a joke. The Aubie board = self rightous idiot fest.
Here's another fun little thread from AU. The question was would you pull for LSU in anything: LTFUSN Registered User Posts: 810 (4/22/04 10:53:04 am ) Reply At least once a year ------------------------------------------------------------------ as they play bammie auburn2 Registered User Posts: 887 (4/22/04 11:34:22 am ) Reply Of course if it helps Auburn. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- That is rare though. For that to happen LSU usually has to be down and playing a better western division opponent. In most conference matchups AU benifits if LSU loses. In non-conference games who I pull for, rests entirely on which team I dislike the most. So if LSU is playing say Southern Miss, I usually pull for southern Miss. If they were playing I team I really hate like Miami, ND, FSU or Southern Cal I would pull foir LSU. Barrettaub Registered User Posts: 174 (4/22/04 12:15:23 pm ) Reply Re: Would you pull for LSU in anything? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Always against Bama. Even if Auburn technically needs Bama to win. Besides that, no. AUCoop79 Registered User Posts: 517 (4/22/04 1:39:16 pm ) Reply After Going to Baton Rouge last year -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- yes, I would pull for LSu except against AU in most things. My wife's from Houma. We spent Friday night at her folks place and then spent Staurday at BR. Ate at The Chimes. With the exception of a couple of loudmouth college kids, it was a lot of fun. Good natured stuff, and my old Jeep was LOADED with Auburn regalia. Nothing happened that would remotely qualify as abusive, etc. So, my perpective on LSU changed. Stadium is huge and somewhat intimidating, fans were loud. Lots of partying. So, yes, after spending a Saturday there, I'd yell for LSU. I mean, look at the other choices!! I also pulled for LSU against UGA in the SECCG, not because I had anything against UGA, I don't. In truth I like UGA much better than LSU. I just felt that LSU was one of the two best teams in the country last year and I wanted to see an SEC team go all the way. The real game last year would have been LSU vs. USC. We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. -Anais Nin dyehardtiger34 Registered User Posts: 369 (4/22/04 1:42:58 pm ) Reply i'd puul for them if they ran electric current through ------------------------------------------------------------------------ the bleachers in Baton Rouge and it was a switch that i was pulling for them. aumurph Registered User Posts: 242 (4/22/04 1:45:41 pm ) Reply Re: Would you pull for LSU in anything? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I guess I pull for LSU in certain situations... it just depends. I have been to BR several times and have not had a bad experience. My worst experience EVER was in Athens and now I can't pull for the leghumpers. Because of that experience I can understand why those that have taken the crap in BR hate Tiggers. Having said that. I would and have pulled for them in football I would and have pulled for them in baseball I can't imagine pulling for them in basketball. I can't stand Brady I always pull for them against the Turds unless it will help Auburn and then I just can't watch it!! tiger22 Registered User Posts: 221 (4/22/04 10:52:23 pm ) Reply Re: Would you pull for LSU in anything? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ no JusPlainWedge Registered User Posts: 607 (4/22/04 10:58:05 pm ) Reply Of course... --------------------------------------------------------------------- First AUBURN! then SEC WEST teams... (of course there are exceptions when Auburn's fate is on the line)... then the rest of SEC Then any team that plays Miami or ND... I pulled for LSU in the NC... I think many AU fans and other SEC fans did also.... LSU has become a defacto rival of AU because of the fact that we have been in the SECW race over the past few years (and we have had some great games between us in that period)... But I pull for the Big-headed Tigers when they play ... Longtrainn Registered User Posts: 412 (4/23/04 3:09:42 am ) Reply Re: Would you pull for LSU in anything? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 3 situations in which I would root for LSU: 1. It would help Auburn's cause. 2. They were playing Alabama. 3. There's a 50/50 chance I would pull for them if they were playing Ohio State, in which case I would flip a coin to choose which team to root for. * No.s 1 and 2 may conflict however. With LSU as the team to beat in the West, I would imagine that this year it would be beneficial to Auburn's cause for Alabama to beat LSU. When this situation arises, I'll just watch the game and smile either way it comes out. It's win/win. autillidie Registered User Posts: 1251 (4/23/04 8:21:55 am ) Reply Yes!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If their fans were competing against each other in russian roulette.
