I went snow skiing in Red River ,New Mexico .I always wear LSU stuff everywhere....usually a baseball cap or maybe a t shirt or sweatshirt. I was absolutely amazed at how much LSU stuff I saw on the slopes. It was Mardi gras week..so I initially thought people were just wearing Mardi gras colors. Wrong...I think half our state must go snow skiing. Everyone had on LSU apparel ...ski jackets ,ski caps etc etc .Then I started looking for other schools. Some ,but not much. LSU stuff 90% - other schools combined stuff 10%. We, LSU fans are a unique bunch.
I love to go other places with my LSU gear, but at the same time, it's a little depressing sometimes. Good example: last year, I am in Florida with my LSU gear and someone comes up to me and tells me how amazing a player JaMarcus is and how lucky LSU should feel to have him, etc... But I get back here and see threads wanting Flynn to go in over him.
That is always going to happen...any school any time. Some people will always want to see the backup. There is all this hype about how great they were in HS and what they are doing in the spring. It's the unknown that intrigues people. QB A is good but what could QB B do? Heaven for bid QB B sees the field for a couple plays and looks good. Then it's a full blown quarterback controversy. Might as well get used to it cus it's never gonna change. My neighbor said something about my grass looking greener than his one day. I replied, "It's like the old saying, the backup is always better than the starter." He didn't get it. :dis:
I agree, but it's just a little depressing that the most decorated QB in the history of the school wasn't even unanimously liked by his own fan base. I doubt fans ever wanted Brady Quinn's backup his senior year at ND. Oh well, I guess... there are always a few bad apples in every bunch. It is what it is.
Man thats too funny, guess all those coonasses gotta go somewhere to find snow. Well, I've lived in Jax since 1990 and I never go anywhere without my Tiger gear on...Win or lose. Gator fans have always been supportive...with the occasional ribbing after a loss. Glad to say, no ribbing this year! :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
Yeah I hear ya I live in Corpus Christi, TX. You know when we play just by seeing me all decked out (belt and socks included). UT fans can be a drag, but a few actually told me USC and UT were BOTH lucky they didn't have to play LSU for the NC in 04.
But then again everytime I mention RP, I get ALOT of dirty looks and a few choice words, they say he coulda started last year and this year, then I mention something about not getting past OU and winning a NC without VY. That usually shuts em up.
I lived n Jax during the OBC years...it was tuff as a Tiger fan. But the Gator fans were pretty knowledgeable SEC football fans. If you see a Saturn Ion around town with two LSU flags on it, blow the horn and wave...it is my dad.
hah will do man, I only know 2 other LSU fans running around the CC one is my brother. The other is a little lez from Alaska (don't ask I was confused too, on a few levels).
